Women Caring and Counselling Centre (WCCC)

Women Caring and Counselling Centre (WCCC) is a Charity Organization that was founded in 1996 and legally registered as an NGO (Reg. No. INDR2448702NB) with the government of Uganda. It was formed with the aim of advocating for the welfare of the widowed, orphans, young women and to restore the wellbeing of the disadvantaged in our society. It has also been at the forefront of the campaign against the inhumane treatment and human rights abuse to widows and children and paved way to access social services. It has empowered the vulnerable youths and widows with vocational skills to enable them become self-reliant. WCCC was initially mandated to work in 4 Districts of Kampala, Wakiso, Mpigi and Mityana but it currently operates nationwide. It has a competent and dedicated staff team of seven (with training and skills ranging from clinical medicine, HIV counselling and social work and management), 110 community volunteers and over 200 Village Health Team members with a wide range of experience in HIV and Malaria prevention services. The staff work closely with the several government health centre staff to provide Home based management of ART through follow-up, care and support at household level and EMTCT counselling.
