In this financial year, WCCC collaborated with the Clergy in Kireka Parish in Wakiso District and Clergy in Kiryokya Parish and Counsellors from Kyantungo HC IV, in Mityana District, to carry out home visits in Kireka, Kiryokya and Mugoye Villages.
Many of the homes include those that belong to widows, child-led families, people living with HIV/AIDS and other vulnerable people. The purpose of these visits is to give psycho-social support to the beneficiaries through prayer and counselling. We also encourage them to maintain good adherence to their treatments (for PLHIV) and also stick to their clinical appointments. During the visits, we also carried soap, rice, maize flour and sugar to the beneficiaries as a way to help them cope up during the Covid-19 lockdown.
