To improve the welfare of women, children and youth through education and health support, socio-economic empowerment, rights advocacy and networking in Uganda
Overall Goal
To coordinate and provide education, health care, clean water, income generating projects and advocate for other services for marginalized members of society, including women, orphans and other vulnerable children, the elderly and people living with HIV/AIDS by 2025
- To advocate for better health services, education, environmental protection, employment and decision making.
- To strengthen the capacity of women and girls in the society.
- To improve the quality of life for orphans, widows and people affected with HIV/AIDS.
- To strengthen community support systems and economic capability to enable the local communities to reduce the vulnerability to the socio-economic impact of HIV/AIDS
- To equip all the women, orphans and other vulnerable children with self-independent skills, to enable them to live independently as full members of the society.
- To initiate income generating activities to provide a sustainable income especially for women, orphans and other vulnerable children.
- HIV/AIDS/Health-To contribute towards the reduction of morbidity and mortality rates from the main causes of HIV/AIDS/TB/Malaria and pre-mature death.
- Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH)- To provide communities with clean drinking water through lobbying and advocacy with local government and international partners.
- Education support- To provide scholastic materials, Medical care, psychosocial support and school lunch under the school feeding program for orphans and other vulnerable children in learning institutions.
- Advocacy– Increased funding for WCCC’s work, empowered women & PLHA self-help groups and further appreciation of the WCCC’s mission resulting from advocacy will eventually lead to improved quality of life of women, OVC, the elderly and PLHA.
- Capacity Building– To help the youths, women & People Living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) self-help groups to have improved capacity in creating and handling finances, running new income generating related activities and creating pillars of sustainability through the established income generating activities.
- Economic Empowerment– To increase household income by mobilizing the community to participate in savings and microenterprise programs.
- Professionalism: The staff and volunteers engaged by WCCC work with integrity and confidentiality and are reliable, responsible and provide quality services.
- Diversity: WCCC embraces the diversity of all Ugandans; we believe that both men and women must be equitably and actively involved in problem solving and decision making in order for the community to thrive.
- Partnership: WCCC nurtures and fosters partnerships with relevant stakeholders with a view to achieve its objectives.
- Advocacy: WCCC continues to create awareness and build capacity on pertinent issues towards our goal of bridging the poverty gap and enhancing the realization of a domestic violence-free society.
