WCCC boasts of dozens of years of experience in counselling and guidance. Over the just concluded financial year, we have continued to conduct pre-marital and marital counselling sessions to couples, individuals getting ready for HCT, youths and adults undergoing various life challenges and school going children.
In this reporting period, WCCC collaborated with the Clergy in Kireka Parish in Wakiso District and Clergy in Kiryokya Parish and Counsellors from Kyantungo HC IV, in Mityana District, to conduct counselling sessions among community members in Kireka, Kiryokya and Mugoye Villages. Despite the Covid-19 lockdown, we have been engaged in several one-on-one counselling sessions among married couples, those intending to get married as well as the youths.
The major goal of this campaign was to preach and encourage patience and tolerance amongst the couples as well as good communication and openness among them. After each session, the couples were encouraged to approach the counsellors from the nearby community health centres in order to seek more information on HIV prevention and also other HIV/AIDS Prevention services.
